Quincy Wilson, a 16-year-old American male athlete, has qualified for the Olympics as a member of the 4x400m relay pool in Paris. Despite finishing sixth in the 400m final and missing out on an individual spot, Wilson was selected by USA Track and Field to be part of the relay team. This achievement could make him the youngest American male athletics competitor at an Olympics, surpassing Jim Ryun who was 17 years and 137 days old when he competed in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Wilson, a student at Bullis School in Maryland, broke the under-18 world record for the 400m twice during the US trials in Oregon, with times of 44.66 seconds and 44.59 seconds. His Instagram post celebrating the news revealed his excitement about going to the Olympics. This opportunity represents a significant milestone in Wilson’s young career and showcases his talent and potential in the world of athletics.
