Tickets are now available for the Mid-Ohio Valley Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2024 induction banquet, which will be held on June 8 at the Grand Pointe Center in Vienna. The tickets are $50 per person and must be purchased in advance by May 26. The hall of fame honors outstanding achievements in sports in a seven-county region in Ohio and West Virginia, with ten new members being inducted this year.
In addition to the hall of fame banquet, the Wirt County Sideliners and Wirt County High School football team will be hosting their annual golf scramble on June 1 at Mingo Bottom golf course. The event will include cash prizes, a $5,000 hole-in-one prize, and food and drinks. For more information, interested participants can contact Yogi Peterman or Billy Dotson.
The 34th annual Offensive Skills basketball camp will also be held on June 17-21 at Williamstown High School, catering to campers in grades kindergarten through nine. The camp will focus on enhancing offensive basketball skills and will be led by Fred Sauro.
Additionally, the 37th annual Ohio River basketball day camp for boys and girls entering grades 3-8 will take place on June 3-6 at Ravenswood High School. The camp will cover all aspects of the game and will be run by director Mick Price.
Lastly, area teams are encouraged to send in their full season cumulative stats to be included in the weekly Mid-Ohio Valley prep baseball and softball statistical leaders. The Wood County Rec Summer Tennis Program will also take place from June 10 to July 29, offering lessons for boys and girls aged 5-18 at the City Park Courts.
