The Ohio State Fair, celebrating Ohio’s agriculture industry, will kick off on July 24. The fair will showcase various aspects of agriculture, including livestock, 4-H and FFA competitions, and agricultural organizations. One highlight event is the Dean’s Charity Steer Show, benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. Community leaders and young people from 4-H will compete alongside Spectrum News anchor Chuck Ringwalt and AEP representative Dan Mueller. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio aims to raise awareness for their organization, as well as The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, 4-H, and the 4-H Foundation through this event.
With over 27,000 competition entries, the fair will also feature various competitions and exhibitions in creative arts, fine arts, and youth arts. The event provides an opportunity for families and individuals to learn about agriculture and support local farmers. Andy Vance, an agriculture expert, encourages fair attendees to visit the livestock shows and ask questions to learn more about the industry.
For those interested in supporting Team Rocky and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, they can do so by visiting the fair’s website. Overall, the Ohio State Fair aims to provide a fun and educational experience for attendees while celebrating the state’s agricultural heritage. If anyone has ideas for the Ag Report or would like to share their farming experience, they can email Charles Ringwalt at Charter.com.
