Cousin of Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah receives 40-year sentence for killing JOK’s older brother

Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah’s family and friends packed a Virginia courthouse for the sentencing of his older brother’s murderer, Ronald Ivan Scott, who received 40 years in prison for second-degree murder and other charges. Joshua Owusu-Koramoah, a former William & Mary linebacker and teacher, was found dead in his burned residence. Family and friends described him as a beacon of light, always helping others and preaching the gospel. Scott, a cousin who had been staying with Joshua, pled guilty and expressed remorse for his actions. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who was in Ghana at the time of his brother’s death, testified about their close bond and how Joshua was his best friend. The community described the brothers as inseparable and always looking out for each other. Joshua’s mother and older brother spoke about his kind and selfless nature, sharing stories of how he helped those in need. Friend and former teammate Drew Barker remembered the brothers as a dynamic duo in sports and as faithful companions. The sentencing brought closure to the family, but the loss of Joshua left a void in their lives. The testimony highlighted Joshua’s impact on others and how he lived his life with kindness and generosity. The Browns organization and fans offered their support and condolences to the Owusu-Koramoah family during this difficult time.
