Jamon Sellman, the owner and developer of the Willman Building project in Urbana, recently updated the Urbana Lions Club on the progress of the project. The Willman Building, previously home to Willman Furniture for 87 years, closed its doors in August 2022. Sellman purchased the property with the goal of transforming it into semi-luxury residential lofts on the second and third floors, while the main floor will be used as a co-work space for businesses.
Sellman’s vision for the project is to stimulate residential growth in downtown Urbana. He reported that the project is on track to open the lofts for lease in November, with the main floor co-working space set to open in December. The Urbana Lions Club, a long-standing service club in Urbana, meets weekly to provide support for the community. Meetings take place every Wednesday at noon at The River of Life Christian Center.
