An Israeli civilian has tragically been killed by a rocket fired from Lebanon, according to a report from Israel’s N12 news channel. The Israeli military confirmed that 10 rockets had been launched from Lebanon, with one hitting kibbutz Hagoshrim and resulting in one casualty.
In a separate incident, nine Israeli soldiers are set to appear before a military court on allegations of sexual abuse of a Palestinian prisoner held at Sde Teiman, a facility where Gaza prisoners have been detained. This investigation has led to tensions between military command and hard-line nationalists in the government who advocate for harsher treatment during the ongoing conflict.
In addition, Gaza’s civil defense agency reported that approximately 300 people were killed in Khan Younis by an Israeli operation, as the military ended an assault to halt rocket fire. Despite these conflicts, business appeared to be resuming as normal at Beirut Airport, with travelers remaining unfazed by the threats of escalation.
The UK has stated it is not the “right time” to recognize a Palestinian state, emphasizing a commitment to a two-state solution. Meanwhile, Hezbollah claimed to have fired at Israeli warplanes, and British citizens in Lebanon are being urged to leave.
In Gaza, thousands of Palestinians have returned to their homes in Khan Younis following the end of a week-long Israeli incursion, during which more than 150 Palestinian gunmen were reportedly killed. Despite the devastation, residents maintain hope for a ceasefire and a return to peace and security.
