In the early stages of the 2025 recruiting cycle, the Ohio State Buckeyes have already secured verbal commitments from impressive cornerback duo Devin Sanchez and Na’eem Offord, who are not only ranked as the top two cornerbacks in the nation, but also the fourth and sixth overall prospects, respectively. This marks a historic achievement as it is rare for two cornerbacks to be rated among the top 10 prospects in a recruiting cycle, let alone choosing the same school.
The last time a program secured two cornerbacks ranked among the nation’s top six prospects was in 2013, with players choosing different schools. Sanchez and Offord’s rankings are unmatched in recent history, surpassing previous classes where the top cornerback and safety were recruited by the same program.
Ohio State’s success in recruiting elite cornerbacks mirrors Alabama’s haul in 2021, which saw two future first-round NFL draft picks. The Buckeyes’ prospects, Sanchez and Offord, may follow in the footsteps of previous top cornerback duos who went on to achieve high draft selections in the NFL.
Furthermore, Ohio State may add another five-star cornerback, Dorian Brew, to their impressive defensive back haul. The program’s future appears bright with a formidable defense in the works, making them a formidable force for opposing quarterbacks and wide receivers in the coming seasons.
