Beachwood police blotter reports woman scammed while trying to purchase Taylor Swift tickets

A woman in Beachwood, Ohio fell victim to a scam while attempting to purchase Taylor Swift concert tickets from a Facebook vendor. She sent $1,000 via the Zelle app but never received the tickets as promised. Another incident involved the theft of an Apple iPad delivered by Amazon from a woman’s home. The packaged was found taped but without the iPad inside.

In a separate incident, a woman reported violation of a protection order when she encountered a man at a movie audition despite having a protection order against him for a domestic violence incident. The man was told to leave by police, but stated it was unfair.

An auto theft was reported at the Beachwood Pointe Rehab Facility, where an employee’s 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander went missing from the parking lot. Surveillance video showed a masked man in the lot, but did not show him entering the vehicle.

Lastly, police responded to a call at Lifetime Fitness where a woman who had been banned from the facility was found in the parking lot. Despite showing membership credentials on her phone, the woman was still considered banned due to concerns that she may now be homeless. Lifetime Fitness chose not to pursue charges against the woman for criminal trespassing.

These incidents in Beachwood highlight the importance of security measures and caution when dealing with online transactions and individuals with protection orders. Police investigations are ongoing in these cases.
