Cuyahoga Valley National Park is looking for volunteers to help remove invasive plant species and restore native habitat on August 8 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers must be at least 10 years old and will have the opportunity to improve the park’s ecosystem by removing plants that overcrowd native species. This helps native plants thrive and provides better habitat for wildlife.
Participants ages 10-15 need a parent or guardian with them, while those 16-17 need a signed volunteer agreement form. Loppers, saws, and other hand tools will be provided for plant removal, along with work gloves and eye protection. Water will be available, but volunteers should bring a refillable bottle.
Those interested must register to participate, with the meeting location provided after registration. The event is free and welcomes both new and experienced volunteers. To sign up or learn more, visit the event page.
This volunteer opportunity is a great way for individuals to make a positive impact on the environment and help preserve the natural beauty of the park. By working together to remove invasive species and restore native habitat, volunteers can contribute to the health and sustainability of the ecosystem.
