Collaborative Anti-Trafficking Event Raises Funds to Combat Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is a serious issue that is often much more subtle than depicted in TV dramas. It involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel someone to perform labor or a commercial sex act. The International Labor Organization estimates that 27.6 million people globally experienced forced labor and/or commercial sexual exploitation on any given day in 2021.

To fight against trafficking in Cuyahoga County, the Collaborative to End Human Trafficking is holding its Annual Benefit on September 19 at Windows on the River in Cleveland. Keynote speaker Katherine Chon will share highlights from the nation’s first human trafficking prevention report. The event will also honor leaders working to end trafficking in the region.

President & CEO Kirsti Mouncey emphasizes the importance of shining a light on this complex human rights problem. She encourages community members to take action and support efforts to end trafficking. Tickets for the benefit are on sale now, with proceeds going towards funding the fight against trafficking.

The event will feature cocktails, live entertainment by the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, and heavy appetizers. Tickets are $125 per person or $1,000 for a table of eight.
