Israeli forces conducted a raid on the town of Qabatiya in the West Bank, resulting in the deaths of at least seven Palestinians. Video footage showed soldiers pushing what appeared to be dead bodies off a rooftop, sparking outrage and accusations of brutality.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident as a crime, describing the behavior of the Israeli army as inhuman and savage. Mustafa Barghouti, the secretary-general of the Palestinian National Initiative, expressed shock at the soldiers’ actions and questioned whether they had verified the victims were still alive before pushing them off the building.
The Israeli military claims it killed four Palestinian gunmen during the raid and acknowledged the video evidence, stating that the incident was under review. However, there are doubts about whether a proper investigation will be conducted and accountability will be ensured.
The raid also resulted in the deaths of two young men in a vehicle bombing and injuries to eleven others by live bullets. Palestinian children were trapped in schools and a kindergarten during the attack but were eventually evacuated with the help of the Palestinian Red Crescent.
This incident is the latest in a series of violent clashes in the West Bank, with over 600 Palestinians killed since October 7. The international community has condemned the violence, calling for an end to the attacks on civilians. The ongoing conflict highlights the need for a resolution to the long-standing tensions in the region.
