Akron man found guilty of killing woman in driveway shooting

An Akron man, Antonio Miller, has been convicted by a Summit County jury for the shooting and killing of a woman, Tina Case, in her car in the driveway of her home in April 2022. The charges against Miller include aggravated murder, two counts of murder, and felonious assault, all with gun specifications.

Prosecutors stated that Miller ambushed Case at around 10:35 p.m. on April 7, 2022, at her Kenmore neighborhood home, shooting her multiple times. Case was pronounced dead at the scene by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. The incident was believed to be related to the breakup between Miller and Case’s daughter after a five-year on-and-off relationship.

Miller was arrested five months after the incident, as security camera footage linked him to the crime. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 28 at 10 a.m.

The Summit County Prosecutor, Elliot Kolkovich, expressed satisfaction with the jury’s verdict and reiterated the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions. The conviction of Miller serves as a reminder of the tragedy caused by senseless acts of violence in the community.

The trial and conviction of Antonio Miller highlight the dedication of law enforcement and the justice system in seeking justice for the victims of violent crimes. The sentencing of Miller will bring a sense of closure to the family and friends of Tina Case, while also sending a strong message against such heinous acts in the community.
