Seven Browns players were unable to practice on Wednesday ahead of the Raiders game, including tight end David Njoku and running back Jerome Ford. Ford’s status is of particular concern as the running game has struggled, and the team is hopeful he can play. Njoku, who has missed the past two games with a high ankle sprain, is also uncertain for the upcoming game.
In addition to Njoku and Ford, offensive tackles Jed Wills Jr. and Jack Conklin, Myles Garrett, and Jordan Hicks were also absent from practice. Running back Nick Chubb, who is on the Physically Unable to Perform list, could be activated next week, giving the Browns a 21-day window to add him to the roster.
For the Raiders, Maxx Crosby, who has been dealing with a high ankle sprain, did not practice on Wednesday. Despite his injury, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski praised Crosby’s work ethic and performance on the field. In terms of the left tackle position, Joel Bitonio is an option to start there on Sunday, with Wills and Conklin also being potential candidates.
Stefanski remains optimistic about Hicks’ availability for Sunday, emphasizing his leadership and performance on the field. The Browns will continue to monitor the status of their injured players as they prepare to face the Raiders.
