A man in Painesville Township, Ohio is in custody after a SWAT standoff that began when he allegedly shot his wife in the leg. Lt. Larry Harpster of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jeffry Wyman, 63, is being held on a charge of felonious assault following the incident on West Jackson Street. Deputies responded to reports of shots fired and found the victim, a 56-year-old woman, with a gunshot wound. Wyman barricaded himself in his home but eventually surrendered after negotiations with authorities. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital before being airlifted to UH Hospitals in Cleveland, where her injuries are not life-threatening.
