Utilizing Altair’s advanced simulation and design technology, Cleveland Golf was able to push the boundaries of traditional driver design and create a high-performance product that enhances sound quality, moment of inertia (MOI), and forgiveness.
Altair’s technology and expertise have helped Cleveland Golf shape the future of golf equipment, allowing them to explore innovative design possibilities that were previously impossible with physical testing alone. The collaboration between the two companies has resulted in the creation of a driver that breaks free from traditional geometry and delivers new levels of performance while still meeting United States Golf Association (USGA) club requirements.
By leveraging Altair’s HyperWorks platform, Cleveland Golf was able to rapidly iterate on design concepts, conduct physics-based simulations, and optimize the HiBore XL driver for manufacturing. The custom ribbing optimization process developed through the collaboration with Altair helped increase the driver’s stiffness, improve its sound, and enhance its center of gravity and MOI.
