In a dominating performance, the U.S. Women’s Senior National Water Polo Team defeated Mexico 27-3 at the 2024 PanAm Water Polo Championships in Ibague, Colombia. Emily Ausmus led the team with five goals, while goalkeeper Lauren Steele made four saves. The Americans started strong and never looked back, scoring multiple goals in each quarter. In the second period, they extended their lead to double digits before closing out the game with a 27-3 win. The U.S. team went 0/2 on player advantages and 1/1 on penalties, while Mexico struggled with 0/7 on player advantages and no penalties attempted. The leading scorers for Team USA were Ausmus, Jovana Sekulic, Quinn Healy, and Charlotte Raisin. With this victory, the U.S. team sets their sights on facing the host nation of Colombia in their next match.
