AP Top 25 poll: Ohio State climbs to No. 3 while Clemson drops in college football rankings


Week 10 of the 2024 college football season brought significant upsets and unexpected outcomes, leading to a shakeup in the Sunday’s AP Top 25 poll. SMU gained seven spots to No. 13 after defeating No. 23 Pittsburgh, marking their first time in the top 15 since 2019. Oregon claimed the top spot, with Ohio State following at No. 3. Clemson fell to No. 19 after a loss to Louisville, who reentered the rankings at No. 25. Texas A&M and Iowa State also dropped in the rankings after losses.

Indiana secured a top-10 ranking for the first time since 2020 after cruising to their ninth double-digit win of the season. The full Week 11 AP Top 25 rankings were released, with Oregon at the top, followed by Georgia and Ohio State. Other notable rankings include Miami (FL) at No. 4, Texas at No. 5, and Penn State at No. 6.

The rankings also saw Alabama at No. 11, Notre Dame at No. 12, BYU at No. 14, and SMU at No. 15. Mississippi, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Iowa State, and Army rounded out the top 20. Clemson, Washington State, Colorado, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, and Louisville completed the top 25. Illinois and Missouri dropped out of the rankings.

Several teams received votes, including Missouri, South Carolina, Tulane, UNLV, and others. The college football landscape continues to be unpredictable as teams jockey for position in the rankings.
