The Ohio River Festival is set to begin today at Riverfront Park in Ravenswood. The festival, which originated in 1935, will feature a variety of activities including free inflatables, carnival rides, music performances, and food vendors. The event will also include two parades on Saturday, one featuring floats judged for awards and a boat parade. Musical performances will include West Virginia native Kate Boytek and American Idol winner Noah Thompson. Other artists scheduled to perform include Melissa Quinn Fox, Jack & Davis Reed, and Johnny Staats & the Delivery Boys. Country music star Billy Dean will headline the festival on Saturday night. The festival will conclude with a massive fireworks display. Entry to the festival is free. More information on the schedule and activities can be found on the City of Ravenswood website.
