CINCINNATI, OH – Spectrum News 1 Ohio is excited to announce that Javari Burnett has joined its team as a multimedia journalist, starting August 2024. Based in Cincinnati, Burnett brings a wealth of experience and passion for storytelling, honed from his early days reporting for his high school newspaper. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a master’s degree in Strategic Communications from the University of Memphis.
Burnett began his television career at an ABC affiliate in Salisbury, Maryland, where he spent three years as a general assignment reporter. His reporting covered diverse topics that resonate within the community, including arts and culture, as well as initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Burnett emphasizes the importance of curiosity in journalism, aiming to uplift marginalized voices and deliver accurate reporting.
When not on the job, Burnett enjoys a variety of hobbies including writing, reading, and traveling. A self-proclaimed foodie, he loves exploring the vibrant Midwest cuisine scene and indulging in his favorite comfort shows during downtime.
