Highland Heights Announces Holiday Community Lighting Event and Charitable Drives
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio – The city is set to kick off the holiday season with its annual Holiday Community Lighting on December 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the fire department bay at the municipal complex, located at 5827 Highland Road. Mayor Chuck Brunello, Jr. will officially light up City Hall and the surrounding grounds during this festive event.
Attendees can look forward to enjoying hot chocolate, engaging craft activities for children, live reindeer, and the opportunity to meet Frosty the Snowman, as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus for photos. Admission is free, and no reservations are necessary. However, guests are encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts for less fortunate children, as the community supports the St. Paschal Clown Ministries in distributing these donations. As a token of appreciation, each donation will enter participants into a drawing for a 2025 Highland Heights Family Pool pass, with the winner announced at the end of the lighting event.
In addition to the Holiday Lighting, the Highland Heights Fire Department is collaborating with Olivia’s Dream for a Toys for Tots drive, collecting new, unwrapped toys until December 12. A collection bin is available in the fire/police department lobby for drop-offs.
Moreover, this holiday season, the police and fire departments are also fundraising for Providence House in Cleveland. A giving tree is set up in the department vestibule, adorned with ornaments indicating items most needed, including toys, gift cards, and essential supplies. Donations can be dropped off until December 19, with Moving Ahead Services facilitating transport to Providence House.
