Chieftain Swim Team Makes a Strong Start to the Season at Peak of Ohio


The Chieftain swim team started off their season with a strong showing at the Bellbrook Sprint Invite, despite being short on swimmers. The boys’ team finished 2nd and the girls placed 4th out of 8 teams. The team achieved an impressive 24 personal bests during the meet.

In the boys’ events, standout performances included Elias Abrego taking 1st place in both the 50 Free and 50 Fly, while Cody Hudson placed 3rd in the 100 IM and 5th in the 50 Breast. The boys also had strong relay finishes in the 200 Medley and 200 Free.

On the girls’ side, Maddie Ullom stood out with a 3rd place finish in the 50 Back, while Kaeleigh Flora placed 5th in the 100 IM. The girls also had solid relay performances in the 200 Medley and 200 Free events.

Overall, the team displayed great determination and focus on improvement throughout the meet. Their next competition will be on Tuesday at Kenton. With their strong start to the season, the Chieftains are setting the stage for a successful swim season ahead.
