North Dakota freshman defenseman EJ Emery has been selected to the 2025 U.S. National Junior Team preliminary roster, which includes 28 players and 10 members of the previous gold-medal-winning team. The players will convene for a training camp in Michigan to audition for a spot on the final 25-player roster for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa. Emery, who has played in all 15 games for North Dakota this season, has one assist, 18 blocked shots, and a plus-1 rating. The final U.S. roster is expected to be announced by Dec. 24, and Team USA has medaled in seven of the last nine World Junior Championships. This achievement highlights the development of players in the grassroots infrastructure across the country.
