A recent survey conducted after the presidential election revealed the demographics and opinions of voters. The study showed that a significant portion of voters had attended college but did not receive a degree, with the most common level of education being a bachelor’s degree. White voters were more likely to have a college education compared to non-white voters.
In terms of political affiliation, a substantial number of voters identified as independent or something else. The majority of voters thought the nation’s economy was not in good condition and were dissatisfied with the way things were going in the country.
Opinions on political figures such as Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, Tim Walz, JD Vance, Mike DeWine, and Joe Biden varied among respondents. Overall, a significant portion of voters strongly disapproved of President Biden’s handling of his job.
The survey also highlighted that issues such as the state of democracy and candidate qualities like the ability to lead and bring needed change were crucial factors in deciding how voters cast their ballots. Additionally, views on abortion and immigration differed among respondents.
Concerns about the fairness and accuracy of elections were evident, with a sizable portion of voters having little confidence in the election process. There were also differing opinions on whether democracy in the U.S. is threatened.
When it came to party control, more voters preferred the Republican Party to control the U.S. Senate. The survey also revealed that a significant number of voters made their final decision on whom to vote for in the last few days leading up to the election.
