Consumers in Ohio bet a total of $901.4 million on sports in October, making it the second highest monthly amount since the state’s legal market launched in January 2023. This amount surpasses last year’s total by 20.6% and is 4.5% higher than September’s total. Online betting accounted for $881.7 million of the total handle, with retail betting bringing in $19.7 million.
Player winnings reached $814.7 million and $5.6 million worth of wagers were voided, resulting in a taxable revenue of $81.5 million for October. This is a 1% increase from last year and a 67% increase from September. The record revenue for Ohio is $209 million, set in January 2023.
FanDuel emerged as the top operator in October, with $34.5 million in revenue from its partnership with Belterra Park. DraftKings and Hollywood Toledo followed in second place, with Bet365 and the MLB’s Cleveland Guardians in third. Other operators in the Ohio market include BetMGM, Fanatics, Caesars, ESPN Bet, and Seminole Hard Rock Digital.
In terms of retail revenue, Hollywood Columbus led the way with $430,098, followed by BetJack and Jack Cleveland.
Overall, the Ohio sports betting market continues to see growth and competition among operators, with October showing a significant increase in total handle and revenue compared to previous months.
