A charity men’s basketball exhibition game between Dayton and Xavier will be televised on Bally Sports Ohio on Sunday, October 20 at 5 p.m. ET. The game aims to raise awareness and education of mental health and wellness in adolescents and young adults. The event will also be streamed on ESPN+. Neil Sullivan, UD’s Vice-President and Director of Athletics, emphasized the importance of using every available avenue to promote mental health awareness.
The game will feature programming and content about mental health and suicide prevention, with proceeds going to Jay’s Light Fund, Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, and National Alliance on Mental Illness Ohio. The exhibition game will also re-air on Bally Sports Ohio and the Bally Sports app on October 21.
In other schedule news, the second exhibition game with Ashland will not be televised or streamed. Additionally, four home game times have been established for later in the season. The rest of the UD men’s basketball television schedule and times will be announced at a later date.
This exhibition game serves as an important platform to shed light on mental health issues and promote suicide prevention. By utilizing television and streaming platforms, the organizers hope to reach a wider audience and continue the important conversation around mental health and wellness.
