Kevin Warne, a former Hofstra men’s lacrosse player and 2000 graduate, has been named an assistant coach for the U.S. Men’s Field National Team. He currently serves as the head coach at Georgetown and will assist Hofstra Head Coach Seth Tierney, who was named the head coach of the U.S. team in April. Together, Tierney and Warne will lead the U.S. team through the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in Japan.
Warne was a psychology major at Hofstra and played for the Pride from 1995-99. He was a four-year letterwinner and a two-time All-America East honoree. In his senior year, he was named an honorable mention All-American and helped lead Hofstra to a league championship and postseason berth. Warne also gained coaching experience while finishing his degree at Hofstra by serving as an assistant coach at Plainview-Old Bethpage High School on Long Island.
In addition to Warne and Tierney, the U.S. national team staff includes assistant coaches Bobby Benson and Charley Toomey, team operations administrator Patrick Watson, and equipment manager Mike Kettell. Together, this experienced staff will work towards preparing the U.S. Men’s Field National Team for success at the 2027 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship.
