Local Jr. High Girls Basketball Teams Excel in Weekend Contests
The CCS Spartans Jr. High Girls Basketball team secured a 21-13 victory over Emmanuel Christian on Saturday, with Caroline Moore and Avery Rogers leading the team with 6 points each. Moore also dominated on the boards, pulling down an impressive 12 rebounds. Meanwhile, the 8th grade Lady Chiefs of Bellefontaine had a successful day as they traveled to Kenton. The team came away with a strong 43-10 win, with Mia Brown leading the way with 13 points.
The 7th grade Lady Chiefs also triumphed in their game against Kenton, winning 27-12. Gianna Davis was a standout performer with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. The boys’ teams from Bellefontaine and Benjamin Logan also had a busy weekend of basketball. The 8th grade Bellefontaine boys’ team secured a 40-30 victory over Kenton, with Tyrin Johnson leading the team with 22 points.
On the other hand, the 7th grade Bellefontaine boys’ team faced a tough 32-23 loss to Kenton. Finally, the Benjamin Logan boys had mixed results, with the 8th grade team defeating Tecumseh 39-35, led by standout performer Gabe Predmore with 13 points and 7 rebounds. The 7th grade Raiders, unfortunately, fell to Tecumseh 12-31, with Preston Mikes leading the team in scoring with 4 points.
Overall, it was a weekend filled with exciting basketball action for local Jr. High teams, showcasing the talent and dedication of young athletes in the area.
