University of South Florida volleyball player Lia Schneider has been chosen to represent the Bulls at the 2025 USA Volleyball Women’s National Team Open Program. She is one of four players from the American Athletic Conference selected for the program. Schneider, who played in all 108 sets this season as the team’s starting libero, led the team in digs and assists, and was named to the 2024 American Athletic All-Conference Second Team.
The WNT Open Program is a developmental opportunity for potential selection to the U.S. Women’s National Team and National Team Development Program. Schneider will have the chance to compete in events such as the Volleyball Nations League, Pan American Cup, and NORCECA Final Six. Participants may also be considered for the Women’s U21, Girls U19, and newly formed Women’s U23 National Teams based on their birth year and eligibility. Representatives from various organizations will be present, including a Q&A session with Olympian Jordan Thompson and national team athlete Sarah Franklin.
Head coach Jolene Shepardson, in her sixth season, has led the Bulls to success, including a conference championship and multiple NCAA tournament appearances. The team plays at The Corral on the USF campus in Tampa. Follow USF women’s volleyball on social media for updates.
