CLEVELAND, Ohio — As Ohioans brace for extreme temperatures, the National Weather Service (NWS) predicts highs nearing the mid-90s with heat indices climbing to around 100 degrees on Monday. A heat advisory is in effect for Northeast Ohio until 8 p.m. Tuesday, warning residents that the heat index may feel as hot as 103 degrees during this period.

Conditions will remain sunny throughout the day with light winds of 7-9 mph, while overnight lows will settle in the mid-70s under clear skies.

Looking ahead, Tuesday’s forecast continues to suggest mostly sunny weather, with temperatures in the low 90s. However, residents should prepare for increased humidity, potentially making it feel even warmer. There’s a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, reflecting a trend of unsettled weather for the week.

Mid-week, temperatures are expected to drop to the mid-80s on Wednesday, along with greater chances for showers and storms. The end of the week will see highs in the upper 80s on both Thursday and Friday, with substantial chances for further precipitation.

As weekend approaches, stormy weather could persist, with highs returning to the low to mid-80s for both Saturday and Sunday.

For today, Cleveland will witness a minor decrease in daylight, losing eight seconds. Sunrise will occur at 5:53 a.m., while sunset is set for 9:04 p.m. Allergy sufferers should be aware of a medium pollen count at 6.3, requiring caution when venturing outdoors.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against the extreme heat as they plan their week ahead.
